Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

B2080 Appledore Road, Tenterden, TN30 6RL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow drainage and carriageway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2080 Appledore Road, Tenterden from 20th August 2026, with estimated completion by 30th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Collison Place and East Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2080 Appledore Road, Reading Street, Tenterden Road, The Street, Station Road, Rhee Wall Road, Brenzett Corner Roundabout, Rhee Wall, A259 J A2070/B2080 Roundabout, Rhee Wall Roundabout, A259 Straight Lane, A259 From J A268 Roundabout East Of Rye To J A2070/B2080 Roundabout, Brookland Bypass A259, A259 Rectory Lane Roundabout, A259 Rye Road, Guldeford Lane, Folkestone Road, Guldeford Road, New Road, A259 J A268 Roundabout East Of Rye, A268 Rye Hill, Rye Road, Main Street, Flackley Ash, Barnets Hill, Two Hovens, Peasmarsh Road, Whitebread Lane, A28 Station Road, Rye Road, Hastings Road, High Street, Tenterden Road, Rolvenden Hill, Rolvenden Road, West Cross, High Street, East Cross, Ashford Road, B2080 Beacon Oak Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Ashford Road, Bilsington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ashford Road, Bilsington from 17th August 2026 with estimated completion by 18th August 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 300m northwest of Windynook Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashford Road, Frith Road, Roman Road, Knoll Hill, B2067 Bonnington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Burnthouse Lane, Smarden, TN27 8PT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Burnthouse Lane, Smarden from 20th August 2026 with estimated completion by 21st August 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the entrance to Old Burnthouse Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Burnthouse Lane, The Cut, Smarden Road, A274 Headcorn Road, Bell Lane, Smarden Bell Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Caesar Avenue, Kingsnorth, TN23 3QW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Caesar Avenue, Kingsnorth from 1st September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between number 60 Caesar Avenue and number 86 Lucilla Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Caesar Avenue, Lucilla Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Chart Road, Ashford, TN24 8UA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chart Road, Ashford in phases, from the 17th August 2026, with estimated completion by 1st September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

18th August - 19th August

The road will be closed between the junctions with A292 and Repton Manor Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any eastbound traffic is via Chart Road, Chart Road Roundabout, Templer Way, Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Warren Lane, Maidstone Road and New Street.

The alternative route for any westbound traffic is via Chart Road, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, Templer Way and Chart Road Roundabout.

20th August to 1st September

The road will be closed westbound only, between the junctions with A292 and Repton Manor Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any westbound traffic is via Chart Road, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, Templer Way and Chart Road Roundabout.

Before these closures commence, a lane closure on Chart Road will take effect from 3rd August 2026 until 17th August 2026.

Following the closures multi-way lights will be in situ, with estimated completion by 6th September 2026.



Christchurch Road, Ashford, TN23 7ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow meter reading works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Christchurch Road, Ashford from 2nd September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 24 and 26, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Christchurch Road, Jemmett Road, Bond Road, Beaver Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Crocken Hill Road, Egerton.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Crocken Hill Road, Egerton from 17th August 2026, with estimated completion by 27th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Forstal Road heading approximately 200m east, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crocken Hill Road, Mundy Bois Road, C86 Mundy Bois Road Junction With C146 Pinnock Road To Junction With Green Hill Lane, The Pinnock, Bell Lane, Smarden Bell Road, Bell Lane, A274 Headcorn Road From Frittenden Road To Borough Boundary, Biddenden Road, Biddenden Road From Hall Barn Farm To Tile Barn Farm, Smarden Road, Headcorn Road, Bedlam Lane, Forstal Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Hart Hill, Charing, TN27 0HP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hart Hill, Charing from 18th August 2026 with estimated completion by 19th August 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 150m east of Hart Hill Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hart Hill, Bowl Road, A252 Charing Hill, Pilgrims Way, A20 Maidstone Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Pluckley Road, Bethersden, TN26 3EG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pluckley Road, Bethersden from 4th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Willows, from the junction with Tuesnoad Lane heading north east for approximately 1320m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, End Of Pluckley Road At River Beult To Chambers Green Road, Station Approach, Chambers Green Road, Smarden Road, Rose Farm Road, The Pinnock, Bell Lane, Smarden Bell Road, Burnthouse Lane, Biddenden Road, Bethersden Road, Bull Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Forge Hill, Mill Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Street, Hothfield, TN26 1EL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Hothfield from 1st September 2026, with estimated completion by 3rd September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Garden House, Bethersden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, West Street, Little Chart Road, Swan Lane, Surrenden Road, Pluckley Road, Bethersden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Vicarage Lane, Charing.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Vicarage Lane, Charing from 4th September 2026 with estimated completion by 7th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 125m north of Churchwood House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Hill, Egerton Road, Vicarage Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
