(TEMPORARY 7.5T WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (B709 Golf Course Bridge, Innerleithen) (Temporary 7.5T Weight Restriction) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 17:00 on 10 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 20 November 2026. The Order is required due to impact damage.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle exceeding 7.5T along the B709 Golf Course Bridge, Innerleithen.
The alternative northbound route for vehicles over 7.5T is via the B709, A72, B710, A7 and B709 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(A72 HORSBURGH) (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (A72 Horsburgh) (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 15 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 02:00 on 16 August 2026. The Order is required in the interests of public safety to permit safe access and egress due to increased traffic attending Peebles Agricultural Show.
When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of public safety, no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 30mph along that length of the A72 at Horsburgh from 650 metres east of its junction with the B7088 to 440 metres west of the same junction.

(VARIOUS ROADS, PEEBLES) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (Various Roads, Peebles) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 17 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. The Order is required for BT works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall:
(a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the following roads:
Cross Road, Cross Street and Montgomery Place.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Cross Street, A72, Young Street and March Street or Cross Road, Young Street and March Street.
Southbound traffic is via Montgomery Place, March Street, Murray Place, Damdale, Elcho Street and Cross Street, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and
(b) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along both sides of Cross Road, Peebles from the junction with Clark Place to junction with Old Church Road.

(D7/1 MOWBRAYS SLAP, WEST LINTON) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (D7/1 Mowbrays Slap, West Linton) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 11 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 19:00 on 1 September 2026. The Order is required for dangerous wall repair works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D7/1 at Mowbrays Slap, West Linton.
The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Main Street, Deanfoot Road, Croft Road and Mowbrays Slap to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
