What is happening?

(BEDFORD ROAD, MEPPERSHALL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Meppershall outside the industrial complex.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on 17 August 2026 between the hours of 0900 and 1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure will be via A507, B659 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Meppershall between Crackle Hill Rd and Poppy Gardens.
This temporary closure is required to enable S278 work including Bellmouth Installation, Footpath refurbishment and gully installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 18 to 29 August The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure will be via A507, Greenway, Campton Rd, High St and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 18 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Girtford Underpass, Sandy.
This temporary closure is required to enable Structural hammer testing and concrete repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 17 to 19 August 2026 between the hours 2000 - 0600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure will be via Georgetown Rd, A1, Sunderland Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of.Campton Road, Meppershall approx. 30m South of Gravenhurst Road junction.
This temporary closure is required to enable main replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 12 August to 8 September 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure will be via Greenway, A507, Shefford Rd, Campton Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BIGGLESWADE: PART OF BRIDLEWAY
NOS. 10 AND 13)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the lengths of:
I. Bridleway No. 10, Biggleswade which extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 14, Biggleswade at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1944 4596 in a generally southerly direction for approximately 563 metres to OS GR TL 1936 4543.
II. Bridleway No. 13, Biggleswade which extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 10, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 1947 4584 in a generally east-north-easterly direction for approximately 56 metres to OS GR TL 1953 4587.
These temporary closures are required to allow for the extraction of road cores required to determine the thickness and composition of the bridleway construction in advance of proposed improvements associated with future residential development.
The closures are expected to take place from 24 August 2026 until 27 August 2026 but could be closed for up to six months.
There is no alternative route for bridleway users while the closures are in operation.

If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
