Millom Without - Temporary Footpath Closures Due To Electricity Pylon Re-cabling Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS FOOTPATHS IN THE PARISH OF MILLOM WITHOUT) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Aureos on behalf of Electricity North West, to carry out works for the re-cabling of overhead electricity pylons (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the lengths of Footpath in the Parish of Millom Without, specified in the schedule below. There are no alternative routes available during the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2026 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date. It is anticipated that the Works will be phased, with each phase taking approx. 6 weeks, with the exception of Footpath Nos. 416056 detailed at No. 4 in the schedule, which is anticipated to take 3 months. Not all the footpaths will be closed at the same time and only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

1. Footpath No. 416024 - Approx 875 metres between Grid Refs: 319265 485952 and 319753 485329.

2. Footpath No. 416025 - Approx 1190 metres between Grid Refs: 318645 485428 and 319753 485329.

3. Footpath No. 416028 - Approx 180 metres between Grid Refs: 318290 484652 and 318236 484487.

4. Footpath No. 416056 - Approx 905 metres between Grid Refs: 316788 484403 and 316888 483704.
