TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.

  1. The effect of the Order will be to close Wyndham Place from its junction with Commercial Road to 30m south of its junction with Commercial Road.
  2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for manhole repairs.
  3. The alternative route will be Commercial Road, Cumberland Place, Brunswick Place, Charlotte Place, St Andrews Road, Six Dials, New Road, Civic Centre Road, Havelock Road, West Park Road and Blechynden Terrace.
  4. The Order will come into force on 27th August 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 28th August 2026.
