What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (ANDREW LANE, KESWICK ROAD, AND WINDLEHURST ROAD, MARPLE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 4 August 2026 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 which will come into operation on 20 August 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time: Andrew Lane, Marple (North East Side) from the intersection of the south eastern kerb line of Windlehurst Road for a distance of 20m in a south easterly direction, and (South West Side) from the intersection of the south eastern kerb line of Windlehurst Road for a distance of 15m in a easterly then south easterly direction. Keswick Road, Marple (North Side) from the intersection of the eastern kerb line of Windlehurst Road for a distance of 12.5m in an easterly direction, and (South Side) from the intersection of the eastern kerb line of Windlehurst Road for a distance of 13.5m in an easterly direction. Windlehurst Road, Marple (East Side) from a point 12m north of the intersection of the northern kerbline of Keswick Road to a point 12m south of the intersection of the southern kerbline of Keswick Road. 

A copy of the Order and map may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
