THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
(KENSINGTON GATE) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in road cited below.
Kensington Gate to be closed from the junction of Gloucester Road to outside of No, 26 Kensington Gate.
The road is to be closed to vehicles for crane works.
The restrictions will come into force from 12.30hrs until 23.59hrs on Friday 28th August 2026, with a backup date of Friday 4th September 2026.
Diverted through traffic may use the northern section of the road from Palace Gate.
The One-way working of Kensington Gate is to be suspended for the duration of the road closure.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
