What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(LADY BAY BRIDGE AND SCARRINGTON ROAD, WEST BRIDGFORD & CITY OF NOTTINGHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2026 (R26-194)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe and the City of Nottingham
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
:a. Lady Bay Bridge, West Bridgford - From its junction with Lady Bay Bridge, Nottingham to its junction with Radcliffe Road.
b. Lady Bay Bridge, Nottingham - From its junction with Meadow Lane, Nottingham to its junction with Lady Bay Bridge, West Bridgford
c. Scarrington Road, West Bridgford - For its entire length.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From Saturday 22nd August 2026
Until Sunday 23rd May 2027 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Northbound
A6520 Radcliffe Road - A60 Trent Bridge - A60 London Road - A612 Fisher Gate - A612 Pennyfoot Street - A612 Manvers Street - A6011 Meadow Lane - End
Southbound
A6011 Meadow Lane - A612 Manvers Street - A612 Pennyfoot Street - Lower Parliament Street - A60 London Road - A60 Trent Bridge - A6520 Radcliffe Road - End
The Order will come into force on 22nd August 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Nottingham Forest Football Club to ensure public safety for events at the City Ground
