(VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF ASHFORD) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION)
ORDER (AMENDMENT No.1) ORDER 2026

This Order was originally advertised as Amendment 22; however, following the recent consolidation of the Traffic Regulation Orders, it has been renumbered and is now titled as shown above.

Notice is given that THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby Make the following Order:-

Roads in the Borough of Ashford

1) Sussex Avenue, Ashford – Formalisation of a disabled persons parking bay (6.6m) outside no.1

2) Tufton Road, Ashford – Formalisation of a disabled persons parking bay (6.6m) outside no.28

3) Oak Tree Road, Ashford – Formalisation of a disabled persons parking bay (6.6m) outside no.65

4) Christchurch Road, Ashford – Formalisation of a disabled persons parking bay (6.6m) outside no.55

5) Church Road, Ashford (W’boro) – Formalisation of a disabled persons parking bay (6.6m) between no.17 & 19

6) Ellingham Way, Ashford

I. Removal of the two parking bays on the northern most eastern arm;

II. Extension of parking bay on main leg between no.93 & 94 to allow three extra standard spaces;

III. Extension of parking bay on western leg between Ripley’s and no.10b to allow five extra standard spaces;

IV. Addition of new parking bay on western leg between Ripley’s and opposite no.1 to allow eight extra standard spaces;

V. Addition of new parking bay on southernmost eastern arm to allow 2 extra standard spaces.

A full statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, a plan indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the proposed Order may be examined at Ashford Borough Council, International House, Dover Place, Ashford, TN23 1HU by appointment booked through consultation@ashford.gov.uk or viewed online from midday on Friday 14th August 2026 at www.ashford.gov.uk

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
