London Borough of Southwark - Fenning Street, Melior Street - temporary prohibition of traffic

LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)

(FENNING STREET, MELIOR STREET)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable construction and highway works by MACE or it’s appointed contractor, it intends to make an order the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from entering sections of the above named roads.

2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs are in place no person shall cause any vehicle to enter, proceed, stop, wait, load or unload on

(a) Fenning Street, between St Thomas Street and Melior Street

(b) Melior Street, between Weston Street and Fenning Street.

3. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said works.

4. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

5. The road closures will be in place at the following dates and times:

(a & b) Intermittent closures for site operations and highway works, between 08:00 and 18:00 daily from the 28th of August 2026.

6. A signed diversion will be in place, via St Thomas Street, Weston Street.

7. This order remains valid for 18 months from the 20th of August 2026, with works expected to end by 31st December 2026. Further information may be obtained by contacting Network Management at ttmo@southwark.gov.uk
