The East Sussex (U3167 Winterbourne Close, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Winterbourne Close – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 12 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 and 18 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Lane – from the junction with B2088 Main Street to the junction with U6415 Rectory Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6415 Rectory Lane – B2088 Main Street and vice versa.

To allow Power On to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Frederick Road – from the junction with C551 Priory Road to the junction with U3098 Deepdene Gardens.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C551 Priory Road – A259 Old London Road – B2093 Old London Road, The Ridge – U3252 Frederick Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 August and 4 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Freshwater Avenue – from its junction with U3288 St Helens Park Road to its junction with U3037 Osborne Close.

Diversion via U3288 St Helens Park Road – U3037 St Helens Crescent, Thanet Way, Manston Way, Freshwater Avenue and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 30 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 22 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
