Barnet - Proposed Waiting & Parking Restriction Changes
What is happening?
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET
The Barnet (Free Parking Places, Loading Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.*) Order 20** - The Barnet (Charged-For Parking Places) - (Amendment No.*) Order 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of The London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
In order to maintain road safety and traffic flow, deter obstructive parking, and improve sightlines and safety for all, the general effect of the above Orders would be to:
Introduce new lengths of ‘At any time’ double yellow line waiting restrictions at the following locations:
- At the junction of Denman Drive and Denman Drive South NW11; at the junction of Denman Drive North and Oakwood Road NW11; At the junction of Denman Drive South and Oakwood Road NW11; at the junction of Lawley Road and Exeter Road N14; at the junction of Lawley Road and Friars Walk N14; at the junction of Oak Way and Friars Walk N14; at the junction of Brookside South and Friars Walk N14; at the junction of Friars Walk and Knoll Drive N14; at the junction of Bishop Road and Friars Walk N14; at the junction of Bishop Road and Exeter Road N14; at the junction of Holne Chase and Chalton Drive N2; at junction of Norrice Lea and Chalton Drive N2; at the junction of Hale Drive and Deans Lane HA8 and at the junction of Raydean Road and Great North Road EN5.
- Outside and opposite Nos.42 to 50 Denman Drive South NW11.
- Outside and opposite Nos.25 to 37 Denman Drive North NW11.
As a result of the waiting restrictions being introduced it is proposed to relocate the existing dedicated disabled bay outside No.25 Denman Drive North to a new location outside Nos.37 to 39 Denman Drive North NW11
- Side of No.197 Chase Side N14 (Exeter Road).
- Side of No.199 Chase Side N14 (Exeter Road).
- Outside No.16 Brookside South N14.
- Side of No.14 Brookside South 14 (Exeter Road).
- Around the Greenspace island site on Woodlands Close NW11.
- Opposite Nos.2 to 3 Woodlands Close NW11.
- Between Nos. 2 to 8 Park Road EN5, between Nos.3 to 7 Park Road EN5, between Nos.28 to 36 Park Road EN5, between Nos. 39 and 43 Park Road EN5, side of Mandarin Court (Park Road) and outside Nos. 3 and 4 Queen Elizabeth Court, Park Road EN5. By upgrading lengths of existing waiting restrictions operating 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday,
- St Joseph’s Grove NW4, – Southside – From a point approximately 25 metres west of the entrance to St Josephs Catholic Primary School on St Joseph’s Grove NW4. By upgrading approximately 14 metres of existing No waiting restrictions operating 1:45pm to 2:45pm Monday to Friday.
- At the junction of The Drive and The Rise HA8. By upgrading lengths of No waiting restrictions operating 10:00am to 11:00am Monday to Friday.
- At the junction of Oakleigh Road North and Whetstone Close N20. By upgrading lengths of no waiting restriction operating 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday.
- At the side of Nos.38 to 40 Oakleigh Road North (Whetstone Close) N20. By upgrading lengths of no waiting restriction operating 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday.
- At the junction of Wycombe Gardens and Hodford Road NW11. By upgrading lengths of no waiting restriction operating 11:00am to 12:00pm Monday to Friday.
- At the junction of Wycombe Gardens and Finchley Road NW11. By upgrading lengths of no waiting restriction operating 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Saturday.
In order to improve traffic flow and deter obstruction the general effect of the charged-for Order would be to remove resident permit holder only parking bays operating 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday outside Tudor Court, Park Road EN5 and outside No.36 Park Road EN5.
In order to improve general road safety in the vicinity of the existing Puffin Crossing outside Frith Manor School, the general effect of the Free order would be to formalise the upgrade of existing lengths of waiting restrictions operating 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday outside and opposite Frith Manor School, Lullington Garth N12, to operate ‘at any time’.
A copy of the proposed Orders, associated plan of the relevant areas and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing: parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk, or by writing to: The Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.
