THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET
The Barnet (Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No.*) Order 20**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 35, 45, 46, 46A, 49, 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

In order to deter all-day commuter-type parking from taking place in Newton Walk HA8, thus improving resident parking opportunity and reducing traffic congestion, the Council propose to formally extend the Burnt Oak North ‘BON’ Controlled Parking Zone in the section of Newton Walk between Lutra House and Roscoff Road HA8.

1. The general effect of the Charged-for Parking Places Order would be to:
(a) Introduce a resident permit holder only ‘Past this point’ parking area in the section of Newton Walk HA8 between Lutra House and Roscoff Close.

(b) provide that the resident permit holders only ‘Past this point’ parking areas referred to in (1.a) above would operate between the hours of 8:00am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday, during which motorists will be required to have a valid ‘BON’ and ‘BOA’ permit associated with their vehicle or have a ‘BON’ and ‘BOA’ visitor voucher displayed in their vehicle to be parked in the ‘Past this point’ parking area.

Loading will be permitted in parking places referred to in 1 above, for up to 40 minutes provided that the loading/unloading activity was seen to be actively taking place.

A copy of the proposed Order, associated plan of the relevant areas and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing: parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk, or by writing to: The Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.

Further information on the proposals may be obtained by visiting the Barnet Traffweb website at: https://barnet.traffweb.app, or telephoning The Design Team on 020 8359 3555.

Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Order should send a written statement explaining their objection/comments and quoting reference number: - SCR733 (Newton Walk PPA), to: The Design Team, London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, NW9 4EW, or via email to: parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk, within 21 days of the date of this Notice.
