What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(WHARD ROAD & GROVEWOOD ROAD, MISTERTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (BS26-251)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Misterton in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road at Misterton in the District of Bassetlaw: -

Grovewood Road, Misterton - From its junction with Mill Close to its junction with Wharf Road.

Wharf Road, Misterton - From its junction with Grovewood Road to its junction with Wharf Close.

1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

Monday, 24th August 2026
Thursday, 3rd September 2026 Inclusive.

The Order will come into force on Monday 24th August 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Canal and River Trust /J N Bentley LTD on behalf of Core Highways to rebuild upstream parapet at bridge 81.
