(THTTC4237 MOUNT BEACON, BEACON HILL, BATH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS GIVEN that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Mount Beacon, Beacon Hill, Bath from its junction with Richmond Hill extending north to its junction with Footpath Mount Beacon to Richmond Place, Beacon Hill, Bath. USRN: 47901076.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas main upgrade works from the 10th August 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for TWENTY FOUR DAYS.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Openreach safe access for engineers to access telegraph poles and JRC in order to provide fibre overhead cabling on the 13th August 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for ONE DAY between 09:30 - 15:30hrs.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable safe working during the installation of improved pedestrian crossing facilities by Bath and North East Somerset Council from the 24th August 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for FOUR WEEKS.
Vehicles wishing to travel to Charmouth Road are to enter from the A4 Newbridge Road.
