What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7843 Rectory Field, Hartfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Rectory Field – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 24 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 August and 16 October 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7463 Ironchurch Lane, Blackham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Ironchurch Lane – from the junction with C251 Oak Lane to the junction with A264 East Grinstead Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A264 East Grinstead Road – C251 Oak Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 25 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 25 and 31 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7546 Wenbans Lane/Riseden Road, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Wenbans Lane/Riseden Road – from the junction with C14 Tidebrook Road to the junction with U7546 Snape Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7546 Wenbans Lane – U7548 Brinkers Lane – B2099 Lower High Street, High Street, Durgates – B2100 Mayfield Lane – C14 Tidebrook Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 26 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 26 and 27 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7452 Meadow Road, Groombridge)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Meadow Road – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 10 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 and 12 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C470 Priory Road, Forest Row) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Priory Road – from the junction with A22 London Road to the junction with C2 Hindleap Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C2 Hindleap Lane – A22 Lewes Road, London Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 and 11 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
