Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Variation No.26) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that on the 30 July 2026 North Somerset Council made an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

The general effect of which will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include introduction of further parking restrictions and amendments to existing restrictions in several areas of North Somerset. The order will come into operation on the 7 August 2026 and copies of the deposited documents for this order may be inspected at: https://streets.appyway.com/north-somerset 

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council, in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Various Footpaths, Churchill and Sandford, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 17 August 2026

Ref T26-69

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, access to properties and works access.

This order is required because of work being executed on the footpath by North Somerset Council to upgrade the route. This order will become operative on 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 months in duration. Appropriate signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Footpath AX14/21/20 between the junction of AX14/21/20 with Churchill Green and footpath AX29/51/10. Footpath AX29/51/10 between the junction of AX29/51/10 with Greenhill Road and footpath AX14/21/20. Footpath AX14/36/10 between footpath AX14/36/20 and footpath AX14/34/10. Footpath AX14/36/20 between footpath AX14/36/30 and footpath AX14/36/10. Footpath AX14/36/30 between the junction of AX14/36/30 with Church Lane and footpath AX14/36/20. Footpath AX14/38/30 between footpath AX14/36/10 and footpath AX14/34/20. Footpath AX14/34/10 between footpath AX14/36/10 and the junction of AX14/34/10 with Ladymead Lane. Footpath AX14/34/20 between footpath AX14/38/30 and footpath AX14/34/10. Footpath AX14/42/20 between Ladymead Lane and Broadoak Road.

Alternative routes - For Footpaths AX29/51/10 and AX14/21/20 via Greenhill Road, Greenhill Lane, Footpaths AX29/46/30 and AX14/22/10, Churchill Green and vice-versa. For Footpaths AX14/36/10, AX14/36/20, AX14/36/30, AX14/38/30, AX14/34/10 and AX14/34/20 via Church Lane, Footpaths AX14/29/10, AX14/31/20, AX14/42/60, AX14/42/50, AX14/42/40, AX14/42/30 and vice-versa. For Footpath AX14/42/20 via Broadoak Road, footpaths AX14/42/20 and AX14/43/10, Bristol Road, Ladymead Lane and vice-versa.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 19 October 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for a pole replacement. This order will become operative on the 19 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 3rd September 2026

Ref: SW26.27-134

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Strongvox to construct a new footway and associated highway works as part of the new development. This order will become operative on the 3rd September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 57 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to access poles to provide fibre overhead cabling. This order will become operative on the 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
