Order 2026

The above-named Order made by the Council on 30/1/2026, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 6/2/2026 has been continued in force, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 31/3/2028 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding on the following length of public bridleway. A 630 metre length of Bridleway No.1, Seaham that extends south and north west from its inception at A1018, the roundabout north of Seaham Grange Ind Estate to enable preparation and electric cable installation works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to traffic from the north eastern side of the closure, from the footpath east of A1018 roundabout heading north and north east onto National Cycle Route No.1 bridleway, and south westerly to the south western side of the closure and vice versa.
