Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Crossways

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Crossways as listed:

[i] Redbridge Road, Crossways from junction with B3390 Warmwell Road, Crossways to junction with Old Weymouth Road, Moreton;

[ii] Redbridge Road, Winfrith Newburgh from junction with Old Weymouth Road, Moreton to a point approximately 750 metres to the south;

[iii] Old Weymouth Road, Moreton from junction with Redbridge Road to a point 70 metres to the north of Sheepwalk, Moreton.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 17th August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28th August 2026.

This Order will provide Wessex Internet to install fibre infrastructure.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Closure of East Street, Sydling St Nicholas

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along EAST STREET, SYDLING ST NICHOLAS in its entirety.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 10 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 04 September 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer renovation works to stop infiltration.

On this occasion there will be no specified alternative route for diverted traffic.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of A37, Frampton

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 August 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[1] To impose a temporary road closure on A37, FRAMPTON from a point approximately 700 metres south of Norden Lane for a distance of approximately 5345 metres.

[2] To impose a parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along A37, FRAMPTON from a point approximately 700 metres south of Norden Lane for a distance of approximately 5345 metres.

[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along A37, FRAMPTON from a point approximately 700 metres south of Norden Lane for a distance of approximately 5345 metres.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Hunt Road, Blandford Forum

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Hunt Road, Blandford Forum between Carter Close and Elizabeth Road, a distance of approximately 60 metres.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 1st September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11th September 2026.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to replace equipment.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Closure of Chickerell Road, Weymouth - Night Works

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHICKERELL ROAD, WEYMOUTH, between its junction with the entrance to Budmouth Academy and Chelwood Gate, a distance of approximately 95 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 23 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29 August 2026.

Works will take place between 2000hrs and 0600hrs.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway surfacing and lining works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
