What is happening?

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Audley Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with New Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2026 for 1 day or where stated on a valid permit (AD03368112024 – Anglian Water. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while manhole replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via B184, A1301, A505, A1307, A1017, B1057, B1054, B1055, B1053 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Water Lane, Radwinter)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Water Lane, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with East View Close for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410278762 – AFFINITY WATER LIMITED).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water mains repair works are undertaken by AFFINITY WATER LIMITED.

An alternative route is available via Ashdon Road, B1053, Water Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Walden Road, Radwinter)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Temporary Introduction of a 40MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Walden Road, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 2535m in a north westerly direction.
  2. To temporarily introduce a 40MPH speed restriction in that length of Walden Road, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford from a point approximately 170m west of its junction with Church Hill for a distance approximately 3220m in a north westerly direction.

The closure/speed restriction is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2026 for 117 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX047WALDENRD – Affinity Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/speed restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via B1053, B184, B1051, B1053 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
