Park View Rear - Temporary Road Closure Due To Gas Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Park View Rear, Chester-le-Street) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road. A 34 metre length to the rear of No. 17-20 Park View and a 19 metre length between No. 18 & 19 Park View to enable gas main replacement works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic to the side of No. 1 Park View or on Glenavon Road. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works are required from 8am on Monday 24/8/2026 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 2 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
