TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS

NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON VARIOUS ROADS IN NEW MILTON

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council ("the Council") proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 32, 35, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER:

Will be to revoke the limited waiting restrictions on Old Milton Road and to implement various waiting and loading restrictions across roads in New Milton as detailed below:

REVOCATIONS

No Waiting Monday to Saturday 9am – 6pm

Road Side Description
Old Milton Road North-west From a point 1 metre south-west of Crossmead Avenue, in a south-westerly direction for 12 metres.

IMPLEMENTATION

No Waiting At Any Time

Road Side Description
Crossmead Avenue Northeast From a point 17 metres north-west of its northern junction with Wessex Avenue to a point 8 metres southeast of that junction.

Loading Only

Road Side Description
Old Milton Road Northwest From a point 1 metre southwest of Crossmead Avenue, in a south-westerly direction for 12 metres.

No Waiting 9am – 7pm, 1st Mar to 31st Oct

Road Side Description
Pless Road (central island) South and East The lengths of road surrounding the central island at the junction of Pless Road and Whitby Road.
Whitby Road North-east Between the east junction and the west junction of Pless Road which forms the central island.

(ii) New Forest District Council, Appletree Court, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, SO43 7PA (Opening hours: Monday – Thursday: 08.45 – 17.15; Friday: 08.45 – 16.45)

(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30 – 17.15; Fridays 8.30 – 16.45)

OBJECTIONS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIONS:

All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or email public.notices@hants.gov.uk quoting reference A2155/MJB, by Friday 28th August 2026. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.

TITLE:

The order, if made, will be known as "The Hampshire (New Forest) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2011 (Variation No. 6) (Totton, Hythe and New Milton) Order 2026."
