What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF SELBY STREET FOOTWAY FROM NO. 1 TO NO. 30, CLEMENCE STREET FOOTWAY FROM NO. 32 TO NO. 63 AND STEVENS STREET REAR ACCESS ROAD LOWESTOFT

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads and footways in the following phases:

  1. Selby Street Footway from no. 1 - no. 30, Lowestoft from Hervey Street to Norwich Road
  2. Clemence Street Footway from no. 32 - no. 63, Lowestoft from Hervey Street to Norwich Road
  3. Stevens Street Rear Access Road, Lowestoft from Hervey Street to Norwich Road.

This is to facilitate a water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion routes will be:

  1. Hervey Street, Clemence Street, Norwich Road and vice versa

2 and 3. Hervey Road, Stevens Street, Norwich Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from 17/08/2026 - 30/10/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
