What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2031 BRANTHWAITE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C2031 Branthwaite, from its junction with the entrance track to the property known as “Mill Brook”, extending in a generally westerly direction for approx. 500 m.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Suitable alternative routes for vehicles be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the C2031, C2054, C4006 (Dean Cross to Ullock) and C2030 OR via the unrestricted sections of the C2031, C2054, A5086 Crossgates and the C4006, U2333 and C2036 (Shawbank Brow and Brownrigg Brow).

The Order will come into operation on 24 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for approx. 7 weeks, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
