(SIXTH AVENUE, BURY)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be as follows:-
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting (No Waiting Monday to Saturday, 9.00am – 4.00pm)
Sixth Avenue, Bury – north side, from a point opposite the projected easterly kerbline of Second Avenue in westerly direction to the easterly kerbline of the access road to Woodgate Hill Reservoir
South side, from the westerly kerbline of Second Avenue, for a distance of 24m in a south westerly direction
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate safe access and egress for vehicles associated with the Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Project (HARP)
The proposed Order will come into operation on 24/08/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 4 months.

(LONGFIELD CENTRE, PRESTWICH – PEDESTRIANISED AREAS OF THE LONGFIELD CENTRE)
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along:-
Pedestrianised areas of the Longfield Centre – outside the frontage of properties no. 2–14, outside the frontage of properties no. 11–25 & between properties no. 24 & 26/Longfield Suite
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate the safe installation of site hoarding associated with planned demolition works
There will be no alternate route in place
The Order comes into operation on 10/08/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 6 months
