Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
TONBRIDGE & MALLING AREA
A227 Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A227 Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, on or after 16th August 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 90 metres South of The Lodge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A227 Shipbourne Road, A227 Tonbridge Road, A227 Bates Hill, A227 The Street, A227 Borough Green Road, A25 Sevenoaks Road, A25 Maidstone Road, A20 London Road, A228 Ashton Way, A228 Malling Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, A26 Maidstone Road, A26 High Street, A26 The Square, A26 High Street, A26 Tonbridge Road, A26 Hadlow Road East, A26 Cornwallis Avenue, A269 Hadlow Road, A227 Bordyke, A227 High Street, A227 Shipbourne Road and vice versa.
A229 Bluebell Hill Village Slip, Bluebell Hill, ME5 9RL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow two telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A229 Bluebell Hill Village Slip, Bluebell Hill, on or after 12th August 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Common Road and a point approximately 65 metres North of the junction with Common Road, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip North Off, A229 Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, A229 Taddington Wood Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, Maidstone Road, Common Road.
B2027 Stocks Green Road, Hildenborough, TN11 9AL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2027 Stocks Green Road, Hildenborough, on or after 25th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 17. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2027 Leigh Road, B245 Tonbridge Road, B245 London Road, Watts Cross Road, Rings Hill, B2027 Stocks Green Road and vice versa.
Bank Lane, Hildenborough, TN11 8NR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bank Lane, Hildenborough, on or after 13th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the B245 London Road side of the existing driveway at Thomas Wood. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B245 London Road, Mill Lane, Bank Lane and vice versa.
Beech Road, East Malling, ME19 6DF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow underground cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beech Road, East Malling, on or after 25th August 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Lime Crescent for approximately 25 metres in a South direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Mill Lane, Hildenborough, TN11 9LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow stopcock replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Hildenborough, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Limes Farm Bungalow. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, Vines Lane, Riding Lane, B245 Tonbridge Road, B245 London Road, Mill Lane and vice versa.
Nevill Court, West Malling, ME19 6LG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow joint bay installation and new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Nevill Court, West Malling, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Malling House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
New Road, Station Road & A20 London Road, Ditton ME20 6AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, NO LEFT TURN, NO RIGHT TURN & CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of New Road & Station Road, Ditton, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 27 days or until the works have been completed. The Left and Right turns from A20 London Road into New Road & Station Road will be suspended. The cycle lane on A20 London Road will be suspended.
New Road will be closed in 2 phases at the junction with A20 London Road as detailed below:
From 10th August 2026 with estimated completion by 21st August 2026. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
From 29th August 2026, with estimated completion by 5th September 2026, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via London Road, Bradbourne Lane, St Peters Road, New Road and vice versa.
Station Road will be closed at the junction with A20 London Road from 29th August 2026, with estimated completion by 5th September 2026, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 London Road, Hall Road, Station Road and vice versa.
The cycle lane on A20 London Road will be temporarily suspended from outside property number 549 to outside property number 506 for the duration of the works. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There will be no left turn or right turn from A20 London Road into Station Road or New Road. The current Left and Right turns from A20 London Road into Station Road and New Road will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the works.
Plaxdale Green Road, Stansted, TN15 7NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Plaxdale Green Road, Stansted, on or after 26th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 20 metres North of property number 3. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Labour In Vain Road, Tumblefield Road, Plaxdale Green Road and vice versa.
School Lane, Plaxtol, TN15 0QF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of School Lane, Plaxtol, on or after 26th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Chapel House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Long Mill Lane, The Hurst, Oxenheath Road, Park Road, Hamptons Road, School Lane and vice versa.
Stone Street Road, Ivy Hatch, TN15 0NJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow meter and flow restrictor replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stone Street Road, Ivy Hatch, on or after 24th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Sandy Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stone Street Road, High Cross Road, A227 Tonbridge Road, A227 Bates Hill, A25 Sevenoaks Road, A25 Ightham Bypass, A25 Sevenoaks Road, A25 Maidstone Road, A25 High Street, Park Lane, Grove Road, Hall Hill, Stone Street and vice versa.
