What is happening?

Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and
Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary
Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992
Slough Borough Council (Albert Street)
Order 2026 (Order 30 of 2026) (‘Order’)
1. SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL gives notice
that it has made an Order under section 14(1)
(a) of the RTRA 1984 and any other enabling
powers.
2. The Order is needed because works are or
are proposed to be carried out on or near
the road.
3. The Order shall come into operation 00:01
hours on Saturday 26th September 2026 for
a period of 18 months, or until the works
have been completed whichever is sooner.
All works are expected to be completed by
23:59 hours on Sunday 27th September 2026.
The duration of the Order can be extended
with the approval of the Secretary of State for
Transport.
4. While the Order is in operation it will prohibit
any traffic passing through Albert Street,
Slough, SL1 from its junction with Windsor
Road, Slough SL1 to its junction with Upton
Park, Slough SL1.
5. An alternative highway will be available for use while the Order is in force and local diversions will be clearly signed at the location. Advanced warning notices will be at the locations advising of the dates the works will be carried out. Access will be maintained for all local residents and businesses.
