TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC 150719300 : The City of Manchester (Quay St, Byrom St, Hardman St, & Atkinson St, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic, One-Way Traffic, No Waiting No Loading & Reversal of One-Way Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Quay Street from Deansgate to Gartside, on Byrom Street from Quay Street to Hardman Street, on Hardman Street from Jodrell Street to Byrom Street & on Atkinson Street from Jodrell Street to Deansgate. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Deansgate, Liverpool Road, Lower Byrom Street, Quay Street, Gartside Street, Bridge Street.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate PFA Awards 2026. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 21st August 2026 to 26th August 2026. The order shall come into operation on 21st August 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
