New Brancepeth - Temporary Road Closure Due To Drainage Installation Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Rock & Benville Terrace, New Brancepeth) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council on 31/7/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road. A 45 metre length of Rock Terrace (rear), extending south east and east from C154 and a 20 metre length of Benville Terrace, to the rear of No. 1 to enable new development drainage installation works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the north western side of the closure, from C154 south on Benville Terrace and Hawthorne Terrace and east along Co-operative Terrace, to rear Hawthorne Terrace and north on Model Cottages/The Bungalows, to the eastern side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are required from 10/8/2026 for approximately 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
