(TEMPORARY 10MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (A72 Galashiels to The Nest) (Temporary 10mph Speed Restriction) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 18:00 on 10 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 28 August 2026 and will be in effect only when signs etc are in place. The Order is required to operate a convoy system during Pot Hole pro works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 10mph along the A72 from Aldi, Galashiels to The Nest round-a-bout.

(A6091 GALAFOOT BRIDGE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (A6091 Galafoot Bridge) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 10 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 06:00 on 31 December 2026. The Order is required in the interests of road/public safety while the Galafoot Bridge deck refurbishment works are carried out.
When the Order comes into effect:
(a) a One Way Order in a north easterly direction will be in force on the B6360 between the A7 and Abbotsford House. No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle in a south westerly direction. The alternative route for southwest bound traffic is via the B6360, A6091 and A7 to the point of the One Way Order; and
(b) no person shall walk, cycle, ride or wheel along Black Path on the east side of Galafoot Bridge: and
(c) no person shall (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle; and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on the southwest side of Boleside Road Car Park.
Access for Pedestrians will be diverted over the bridge, crossing the A6091 to rejoin the path on opposite side.

(B6359 DINGLETON ROAD, MELROSE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (B6359 Dingleton Road, Melrose) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 13 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 16:00 on 14 August 2026. The Order is required for SPEN works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B6359 Dingleton Road, Melrose.
The alternative route for southbound traffic is via
Dingleton Road, Market Square, East Port, High Road, A6091, A68, A699 and B6359 to the point of closure, for northbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
