HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT WORKS – MAYES ROAD,

CAXTON ROAD & BROOK ROAD N22

The Haringey (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.) Order 202

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The general effect of the Order would be:-

1. To install 3x disabled parking bays measuring a length of 6.6 metres each and operating at any time on the northeast side of Caxton Road N22 adjacent to No.86 Mayes Road. Replaces single yellow line.

2. To adjust the double yellow lines on both sides of Brook Road N22 at the junction with Mayes Road in accordance with the kerbline (to accommodate footway reconstruction).

3. To adjust the double yellow lines on both sides Caxton Road N22 at the junction with Mayes Road in accordance with the kerbline (to accommodate footway reconstruction for cycle track on Mayes Road and the installation of a rain garden opposite the flank wall of No.86 Caxton Road).

4. To adjust the existing double yellow lines on the northeast side of Mayes Road N22 from outside No.86 southeast to the existing parallel crossing outside Umoja House. This is required to accommodate the cycle track described below which will narrow the carriageway.

Notice is also given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey proposes to make the following cycle track alterations under section 65 of the Highways Act 1980:

1. To convert existing carriageway to a section of segregated two-way cycle track on the northeast side of Mayes Road N22, from outside the common boundary of No.88/90 to the western side of the junction with Caxton Road, then from the eastern side of the junction with Caxton Road heading in a southeasterly direction to the existing parallel crossing outside Umoja House.

Notice is also given that under section 90a and 90c of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 the Council of the London Borough of Haringey proposes introduce speed humps (flat top road humps) at the following locations listed below (these will be full width of the carriageway with a length of 10 metres inclusive of ramps and with a height of approximately 75mm):

1. Caxton Road N22: At the junction with Mayes Road.

2. Brook Road N22: At the junction with Mayes Road.

3. Mayes Road N22: The centre of the hump will be location approximately 15 metres southeast from the southeastern kerb line with Brook Road. Existing pedestrian refuge island at this location to be removed.

   A copy of the proposed Order, a copy of this notice, a copy of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the proposed Order and plan(s) showing the locations and effects of the Order can be viewed via the online consultation portal https://consultation.appyway.com/haringey. Alternatively, an appointment can be made, by emailing traffic.orders@haringey.gov.uk to inspect these documents during normal office hours at the reception desk of Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 7TR. Appointments to inspect the documents will be available until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order.
