What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(QUEENS ROAD, AMPTHILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Queens Road, Ampthill between no 17 and number 2.

This temporary closure is required to enable sluice valve replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1 September to 3 September 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Dukes Road, Neotsbury Rd, Oliver St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 Sep[tember for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(SALFORD ROAD, ASPLEY GUISE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Salford Road, Aspley Guise for 20m either side of level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable level crossing survey works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1st to 3rd September 2026 between the hours of 2130 and 0500hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Cranfield Rd, Wavendon Rd, Salford Rd, A421, Bedford Rd, Salford Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(MARSTON ROAD, LIDLINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Marston Road, Lidlington 20m either side of the level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable GPR surveys & vegetation management works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 5 to 25 September 2026 between the hours of 0900 and 1500. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Marston Road, The Lane, Church Street, Station Road, Sheep Tick End, Bedford Road, Woburn Road, Beancroft Road, Bedford Road, Station Road, Martson Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 5 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Silver End Road, Haynes outside number 95.

This temporary closure is required to enable jetting work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary closure is required to enable stop tap replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 21 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A507, A6, High St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable vxo installation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 17 to 18 August 2026 between the hours 0800-1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Higher Rads End, Tingrith Rd, Old Water End and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE  A 50MPH SPEED LIMIT ON A507 RIDGMONT BYPASS AND HIGH STREET, RIDGMONT

Reason for proposal: The proposed speed limit changes are required to support the new roundabout and development access on the A507. The proposals will ensure vehicle speeds are appropriate for the revised road environment, improve road safety, and address visibility constraints on the eastern approach. The changes will facilitate the safe and efficient movement of traffic and support the operation of the new junction. For comprehensive reasoning behind the proposal, please refer to the supporting Statement of Reasons.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce a 50mph Speed Limit on the following length of road in Ridgmont:-

1.  A507 Ridgmont Bypass, from its junction with the Station Road/A507/Mill Road roundabout, extending south-eastwards and then north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 2,115 metres.

2.  High Street, from its junction with the A507 Ridgmont Bypass, extending southwestwards for a distance of approximately 400 metres
