THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR NORTON DISNEY, LINCOLNSHIRE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A46 Trunk Road, in the County of Lincolnshire, due to the likelihood of danger to the public whilst there is increased traffic during the Lost Village Music Festival.
The effect of the Order will be to –
(1) impose a speed restriction of 50 miles per hour on the southbound carriageway of the A46 from a point 159 metres southwest of the centre point of its roundabout junction with Halfway House Lane and Camp Road, near Norton Disney, to a point 278 metres southwest of its junction with Wood Lane; and
(2) close –
(a) the gap in the central reservation of the A46 opposite its junction with Wood Lane, at Norton Disney;
(b) the gap in the central reservation of the A46 opposite its junction with Newark Road, at Norton Disney;
(c) the layby adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the A46, approximately 368 metres northeast of its junction with Newark Road; and
(d) the layby adjacent to the southbound carriageway of the A46, approximately 515 metres northeast of its junction with Wood Lane, and
(3) prohibit traffic making a right turn from -
(a) the northbound carriageway of the A46 into Wood Lane; and
(b) the southbound carriageway of the A46 into Newark Road.
The speed limit, closures, and prohibition of right turns are expected to be in operation between 20:00 hours on Wednesday 26 August 2026 and 06:00 hours on Tuesday 1 September 2026. The Order will come into force on 23 August 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes will be exempt from the speed limit, closures and right turn prohibitions. Special Forces vehicles will be exempt from the speed limit. A diversion route via the A46/Halfway House Lane roundabout junction will be signed.
