THE A55 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 38 WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAY) NORTH WALES EXPRESSWAY
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A55 Truck Road, in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester, in the County of Cheshire, to enable cyclical maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
a) The Order will impose a 50-mph speed limit on the westbound dual carriageway of the A55 Truck Road, from a point 1,400 metres west of the Junction 38 Posthouse Roundabout Western Bridge, to a point 2,500 metres west of the same point.
b) The Order will impose a 40-mph speed limit on the westbound dual carriageway of the A55 Truck Road, from a point 2,500 metres west of the Junction 38 Posthouse Roundabout Western Bridge, to the English/Welsh border.
The restrictions are expected to take place during an overnight period between 19:00 and 06:00 during a period starting on Wednesday 2 September 2026 and ending on Tuesday 8 September 2026.
However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 1 September 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information, contact sam.smith@nationalhighways.co.uk.
