THE A40 TRUNK ROAD (ST CLEARS, CARMARTHENSHIRE TO HAVERFORDWEST, PEMBROKESHIRE) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTIONS & NO OVERTAKING) ORDER 202-
THE WELSH MINISTERS propose, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A40 trunk road between St Clears, Carmarthenshire and Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
The effect of the proposed Order will be to temporarily:
i. impose a 40mph or 10mph speed limit on the lengths of the A40 described in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and
ii. impose a 10mph speed limit on the lengths of the A40 described in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
The 10mph speed limit will only apply during convoy working and no overtaking will be permitted at these times.
The Order will come into force on 20 August 2026. The temporary restrictions and prohibition are expected to operate intermittently from 00:01 hours on that date for a maximum duration of 18 months.

SCHEDULE 1
Temporary 40 mph or 10 mph speed limit and no overtaking
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point 211 metres west of its junction with St Clears Roundabout to a point 37 metres east of its junction with Penblewin Roundabout (including the circulatory carriageways of Llanboidy Road and Blackbridge Roundabouts, Whitland).
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point 36 metres west of Penblewin Roundabout to a point 27 metres east of its junction with Robeston Wathen Roundabout.
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point 37 metres west of its junction with Robeston Wathen Roundabout to a point 36 metres east of its junction with Canaston Bridge Roundabout.
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point 39 metres west of its junction with Canaston Bridge Roundabout to a point approximately 1.2 kilometres north-east of the centre-point of its western junction with the county road known as Cartlett, Haverfordwest.

Temporary 10 mph speed limit and no overtaking
The length of the trunk road that extends from its junction with St Clears Roundabout to a point 211 metres west of that junction.
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point 37 metres east of Penblewin Roundabout to a point 36 metres west of that roundabout, including its circulatory carriageway.
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point 27 metres east of its junction with Robeston Wathen Roundabout to a point 37 metres west of that roundabout, including its circulatory carriageway.
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point 36 metres east of its junction with Canaston Bridge Roundabout to a point 39 metres west of that roundabout, including its circulatory carriageway.
The length of the trunk road that extends from a point approximately 1.2 kilometres north-east of the centre-point of its western junction with the county road known as Cartlett to its junction with, and including the circulatory carriageway of, Scotchwell Roundabout, Haverfordwest.
