Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Chadlington, Church Road

Date of Order: 17 August 2026

Coming into force: 24 August 2026

This Order is being introduced because of drainage works which are anticipated to be completed on 30 August 2026. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit through traffic and waiting at any time in that part of Church Road between property Nos.4 and 6. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles, the Works and for access to property. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Carterton, Upavon Way

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 24 August 2026

Coming into force: 1 September 2026

This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing and associated works which are anticipated to be completed 26 September 2026. This will operate between 20:00 and 06:00hrs. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Upavon Way from Carr Avenue to Lord Close. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. The alternative route for traffic is via Alvescot Road, Burford Road and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Woodstock Footpath 133/1/30 Closure

Date of Order: 17 August 2026

Coming into force: 24 August 2026

This Order is being introduced because of dwelling construction works which is anticipated be completed August 2029. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of Footpath No 133/1/30 at Furze Platt between gate Nos.33/7 and 133/9. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. The alternative route is via the locally signed diversion. This Order will initially remain in force for 6 months and an application will be made to the Secretary of State for Transport for consent to extend the order.

Charlbury, Fawler Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 3 August 2026

Coming into force: 10 August 2026

This Order is being introduced because of gas main works which are anticipated to be completed 13 September 2026. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of Fawler Road from its junction with Woodstock Road to Baywell Cottage. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for light vehicle traffic will be signed locally. HGV traffic will be diverted via Woodstock Road (B44437), A44, Grove Road, Witney Road (A4095) West End (B4022), Hailey Road (B4022), Witney Road (B4022), Charlbury Road (B4022) Fawler Road (B4022). This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order as detailed below:

Nature of Restriction: Road Closure

Location: Manor Close, Cassington, Oxfordshire

Description of Works: Road closure to facilitate Microsurfacing works being carried out by M Group Highways Limited on behalf of OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL.

The anticipated completion date is 26/09/2026 16:00

(Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months, or 6 months for footpaths, bridleways, cycle tracks and byways that are open to all traffic).

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.

Salford, A44

30 mph Speed Limit

Date of Order: 17 August 2026

Coming into force: 24 August 2026

This Order is being introduced because of highway improvement works which are anticipated to be completed on 6 November 2026. The effect of the Order is to reduce the existing 50 mph speed limit to 30 mph along that part of the A44 road between the junction of the road to the Rollright Stones and the county border at Chastleton (for approximately 200 meters either side of the Salford turn). Exemptions are included for emergency service vehicles. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The relevant part of the Oxfordshire County Council (Chipping Norton Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 will be temporarily suspended in respect of the 50mph limit. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
