Notice is hereby given that on the 30 July 2026 North Somerset Council made an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of which will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include introduction of further parking restrictions and amendments to existing restrictions in several areas of North Somerset. The order will come into operation on the 7 August 2026 and copies of the deposited documents for this order may be inspected at: https://streets.appyway.com/north-somerset

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Portishead and Nailsea Off-Street Parking Places (Variation 1) Order 2026

Ref: OSPP/DB/2628

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of which will be to offer additional parking permits for purchase to the Roath Road Car Park in Portishead and the Station Road Car Park in Nailsea. The details of the charges along with times of operation and other details are described in the Schedules to this notice.

Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together with the plans referred to in Schedule 1 and a Statement of the Council's reason for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected at:

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Lampley Road, Kingston Seymour, North Somerset

Temporary 10mph Speed Restriction Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 14 September 2026

Ref: SW26.27-109

Will be to restrict, temporarily, any vehicles from exceeding 10mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services in an emergency situation.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Highways Ltd for safety purposes whilst carrying out survey work. This order will become operative on the 14 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 62 nights in duration between 8pm and 6am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for pole installation. This order will become operative on the 23 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the work which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to replace the temporary reinstatement with permanent. This order will become operative on the 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water Services to replace a cover and frame. This order will become operative on the 19 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration, between 9.30am and 2pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Date coming Into Force: 17 August 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by The Electricity Network Company Limited to installation of new high voltage circuit on behalf of EPIC to provide power to the new EPIC Campus. This order will become operative on the 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 52 nights in duration between 7pm and 6am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - South Slip Roads between Ashton Road and A370 from the beginning of the slip road to the location at which two-way traffic flow resumes. This will not be closed at the same time as Colliters Way.

However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council for works as part of the Metro West project for the installation of a new surface water drainage system. This order will become operative on the 20 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 71 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
