CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C4018 AND C4019 NETHER WASDALE)

(TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME TRAFFIC RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to obstructive parking and to maintain access for emergency services, Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along the following sections of road:-

1. C4019 (west side) from a point at grid reference 314687,504827 extending in a north easterly direction to a point at grid reference 314858,504923; and
2. C4019 (west side) from a point at grid reference 314887,504950 extending in a north easterly direction to a point at grid reference 31504,505400 at its junction with the C4018; and
3. C4019 (east side) from a point at grid reference 314695,504819 extending in a north easterly direction to a point at grid reference 314968,505121; and
4. C4019 (east side) from a point at grid reference 314695,504819 extending in a north easterly direction to a point at grid reference 314968,505121; and
5. C4019 (east side) from a point at grid reference 314978,505137 extending in a north easterly direction to a point at grid reference 315021,505259; and
6. C4019 (east side) from a point at grid reference 315020,505269 extending in a north easterly direction to a point at grid reference 315031,505317; and

This follows 2 emergency notices dated 27 June 2026 and 18 July 2026.

N.B. The 24 hour clearway restriction on that section of the C4018 from the junction of the car park to Wasdale Head Inn, extending in a southerly then south westerly direction for a total distance of approximately 2.1 kilometres, will be temporarily suspended.

Nothing in the order to which this notice applies shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii) Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads.

The Order will come into operation on 8 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months, as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
