Bookham Road (D6877) Cobham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 05 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Bookham Road (D6877) Cobham. This Order is required to facilitate delivery of breakers, using HIAB equipped vehicle for, or on behalf of Octavius Infrastructure Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night, between the hours of 12.10am and 6am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.

Jenner Road (D4014) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 05 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in that length of Jenner Road (D4014) Guildford as extends from its junction with (A246) Epsom Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Jenner House”. Alternative Route: (A246) Epsom Road, Hunter Road, Harvey Road, Cheselden Road, and Sydenham Road. This Order is required to facilitate sluice valve box replacement works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 nights, between the hours of 7pm and 23.29pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no other vehicular access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Charterhouse Road (C23) Godalming
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 05 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Charterhouse Road (C23) Godalming as extends from its junction with (C23) Hurtmore Road to its junction with (D5422) Peperharow Road; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Charterhouse Road (C23) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 in its entirety. Alternative Route: Charterhouse Road, Twycross Road, Farncombe Hill, Farncombe Street, Nightingale Road, Chalk Road, (A3100) Bridge Road, (A3100) Flambard Way, High Street, Station Road, Church Street, Borough Road, and Charterhouse Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate remedial works to the underside of Charterhouse Bridge for, or on behalf of Archer Stone Restoration. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 10 days, between the hours of 7am and 7pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Goose Green (D227) Gomshall
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 31 July 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Goose Green (D227) Gomshall as extends from its junction with Towerhill Lane (D625) to the access road for “Wylton” and “Downs View”.
Alternative route – High View, Queen Street and A25 (Station Road), or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Lanes Group PLC to facilitate sewer cleaning and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 August 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Mint Street (D5421) Godalming
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 31 July 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1), 14(5) and 14(7)of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Mint Street (D5421) Godalming as extends from its junction with Church Street (D5403) to its junction with Station Road (D5421); and 2. suspend “The Surrey County Council Mint Street (D5421) Godalming (Revocation of One-Way traffic and One-Way Traffic and Prohibition of Traffic) Order 1992” to allow Mint Street to be used by residents to access their properties.
Alternative route – Church Street and Station Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate wooden post replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 8 August 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services to properties within the closure will be maintained. Access for residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Sandy Lane (D99) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 31 July 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Sandy Lane (D99) Guildford as extends from its junction with The Drive (X604) to its junction with Littleton Lane (D99); and 2. suspend “The Surrey County Council Sandy Lane (D99) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025”.
Alternative route – A3100 (Old Portsmouth Road), B3000 (New Pond Road), Stakescorner Road and Littleton Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate services disconnection, a new connection and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 August 2026 for 5 days between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained either side of but not through the works site. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Littleford Lane (D216) Blackheath
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 05 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Littleford Lane (D216) Blackheath as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Crossways” to its junction with the access to the properties known as “Derry Hill Cottage” and “Little Orchard”. Alternative Route – Littleford Lane; Blackheath Lane; Wonersh Common; The Street; Cranleigh Road; Northcote Lane; and Littleford Lane or this same route in reverse This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 18 August 2026 is required to facilitate mains water service pipe repair works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Thames Water within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 3 days between the hours of 9.30am and 6pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents with then closure area, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

D228 Walking Bottom, Peaslake
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 05 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D228 Walking Bottom, Peaslake. This Traffic Order is required to enable Thames Water to exchange a boundary box to fix an active leak and/or to carry out maintenance works in D228 Walking Bottom, Peaslake outside “Peaslake Memorial Hall”. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9:30am and 23:30pm within 3 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents, businesses and emergency services will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:- Peaslake Lane, Pursers Lane, Burrows Cross, Burrows Lane, Queen Street, Shere Road, Sherbourne, New Road, Park Road, Shere Heath Road, Sandy Lane, Hound House Road, Mill Hollow and Lawbrook Lane.

D160 Shillinglee Park Road, Chiddingfold
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 5 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D160 Shillinglee Park Road, Chiddingfold which extends from its junction with Fisher Lane southwards to the boundary between Waverley Borough Council and West Sussex County Council. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate haunching/surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 13 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions and suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained when safe to do so. Alternative Route – D161 Fisher Lane, C33 Plaistow Road and D160 Shillinglee Road.

A309 Hampton Court Way, Thames Ditton
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 5 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A309 Hampton Court Way, Thames Ditton which extends from its roundabout junction with Embercourt Road northwards for a distance of 120m. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 13 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions and suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Tite Hill (D3131) Englefield Green
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Tite Hill (D3131) Englefield Green as extends from its junction with (D7007) Middle Hill to its junction with the access to the property known as “Oaklands”. Alternative Route: Tite Hill, (A30) Egham Hill, and Middle Hill, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks, between the hours of 7am and 6pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, will be via the diversion route, this includes access by emergency service vehicles, access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Guildford Road (A320) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Guildford Road (A320) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (X6280) Cross Lane to its junction with (C129) Brox Road. Alternative Route: (A320) Guildford Road, (A320) Chertsey Road, (A245) Six Crossroads Roundabout, (A245) Shores Road, (A3046) Chobham Road, (A3046) Station Road, (A3046) High Street, (A319) High Street, (A319) Chertsey Road, and (A319) Chobham Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is to facilitate lining work to hatch centre of carriageway and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, within the 18-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 01 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Moon Hall Road (D222) Ewhurst
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Moon Hall Road (D222) Ewhurst.
Alternative route – Pitch Hill and Peaslake Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate water works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 2 September 2026 for 3 days between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained either side of but no through the works site. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Priory Green (D3278) Staines-Upon-Thames
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles with the maximum gross weight which exceeds 3 tonnes to enter or proceed in that length of Priory Green (D3278) Staines-Upon-Thames as extends from its junction with Manor Place Access Road (X7047) to its junction with Chestnut Manor Close (D32379).
There is no alternative route.
This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate culvert strengthening works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 31 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The prohibition will not apply in relation to vehicles requiring access to premises or land in or adjacent to the said road, vehicles used by the emergency services or for the purposes of essential services, works and maintenance, and vehicles proceeding in accordance with directions given by Surrey Police, when requiring access to the said lengths of roads.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carriageway dressing/pre-patching works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians will be permitted by the gatemen when safe to do so. Access for cyclists will not be maintained and will be required to follow the signed diversion route/directed by the gatemen on-site.

D3868 Oatlands Avenue, Weybridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D3868 Oatlands Avenue, Weybridge which extends from its junction with D3869 Conifers to its junction with X5212 Sterling Place. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out improvement works and/or resurfacing and road marking works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions and suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Grange Road (D70) Ash
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Grange Road (D70) Ash which extends from its junction with C18 Foreman Road to its junction with D71 South Lane. This Order is required to enable Clancy to carry out gas main replacement works, which is anticipated to be completed within 6 weeks within the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 August 2026. It is anticipated that the works will be carried out in phases as follows:- (a) Phase 1 – between Foreman Road and Gainsford Drive; (b) Phase 2 – between Gainsford Drive and Church Lane; and (c) Phase 3 – between Church Lane and South Lane. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Access to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained by way of road plates. Alternative Route – Ash Church Road and Foreman Road or vice versa.

Public Footpath No. 66 (Egham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
“The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 66 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” was made to enable the refurbishment of Bell Weir. The order came into operation on 23 February 2026. It was due to expire on 22 August 2026 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 February 2028 or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
The order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 66 (Egham) which extends northeast along the River Thames for 40 metres from Grid ref: 500619 172363, to the southwest of Runnymede Pleasure Ground at Grid ref: 500642 172396.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the county council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the south will be generally southeast then northeast, west and southwest around the works compound, a total length of 340 metres, and will be signed throughout. This route is the opposite in reverse.
