What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of The U5070 Kingfisher Avenue, Ipswich
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5070 Kingfisher Avenue, Ipswich to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Hawthorn Drive, Greenfinch Avenue, Robin Drive and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/08/2026 - 06/08/2026 from 9:00am – 5:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U2030 Clapgate Lane, Ipswich
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2030 Clapgate Lane, Ipswich from Frampton Road for 30 metres north westbound to facilitate water pipe repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Landseer Road, Nacton Road, Maryon Road, Braziers Wood Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/08/2026 - 07/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U5132 Radcliffe Drive, U5150 The Chestnuts, U5151 Didsbury Close, U5705 Wilmslow Drive And U5131 Eccles Road, Ipswich
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

- U5132 Radcliffe Drive, Ipswich from Radcliffe Drive to Eccles Road

- U5150 The Chestnuts, Ipswich from Radcliffe Drive to no. 1 The Chestnuts

- U5151 Didsbury Close, Ipswich from no. 26 to Radcliffe Drive

- U5705 Wilmslow Drive, Ipswich from no. 2 to Radcliffe Drive

- U5131 Eccles Road, Ipswich from no. 73 to Radcliffe Drive.

This is to facilitate footway slurry works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Radcliffe Drive, Bridgwater Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 14/08/2026 - 18/08/2026 from 8:00am – 5:00pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U6003 Elms Road, Freckenham
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U6003 Elms Road, Freckenham from 80 metres northwest of Rectory Farm for 60 metres northwest bound to facilitate gas works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Elms Road, the B1102, Newmarket Road, Elms Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/08/2026 - 14/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8704 Woodhall Road, Sudbury from Tudor Road to Manor Road to facilitate the replacement of poles and overhead wires. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Tudor Road, Priory Road, the A131 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 05/08/2026 from 9:30am – 4:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of The C240 North Green Road, Parham
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C240 North Green Road, Parham to facilitate trial hole works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be The Street, Hall Road, Road from Mill Green to C242, Mill Green, North Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 05/08/2026 from 8:00am – 5:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U4610 Stonebridge Lane, The U4609 School Road And The U4630 Sandford Road, Stowupland And Old Newton
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

- the U4610 Stonebridge Lane, Stowupland from the junction with School Road for 50 metres southbound

- the U4609 School Road, Old Newton from 40 metres west of Stonebridge Lane to 40 metres east of Stonebridge Lane

- the U4630 Sandford Road, Old Newton at the junction with School Road.

This is to facilitate overhead electrical poling and cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

- (for School Road) Rendall Lane, Gipping Road, Thorney Green Road, the B1115, the B1113, School Road and vice versa

- (for Stonebridge Lane) Stonebridge Lane, the B1113, School Road and vice versa

- (for Sandford Road) Sandford Lane, Chapel Road, School Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 05/08/2026 from 8:30am – 4:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
