SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES FOR RESURFACING WORKS
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following orders which will impose a prohibition of driving to allow SBC Highway works to take place as follow:
(STR001371 Bath Road, Swindon) A4289 Bath Road between Eastcott Road and Victoria Road. Traffic to be diverted via Eastcott Road, Crombie Street, Curtis Street, Commercial Road, Regent Circus, Clarence Street and Victoria Road. The Order comes into force on the 14 August 2026 for 12 months but works are expected to take place between 14 to 19 August 2026.
(STR001373 Croft Road, Swindon) Devizes Road at the roundabout junction with Newport Street and Lethbridge Road and Croft Road from the roundabout junction with Devizes Road to Springfield Road. Traffic to be diverted via Victoria Road, Regent Circus, Clarence Street, Groundwell Road, Drove Road, Cricklade Street, High Street, Marlborough Road, Pipers Way and Croft Road. The Order comes into force on the 19 August 2026 for 12 months but works are expected to take place between 19 to 21 August 2026.
(STR001374 Ridgeway and Draycott, Chiseldon) The Ridgeway and Draycott Close between the junction with the A346 to the borough boundary. Traffic to be diverted via A346, Copse Drove, High Street (Ogbourne St George) and Draycott Close. The Order comes into force on the 9 September 2026 for 12 months but works are expected to take place between 9 to 11 September 2026.
(STR001329 Marlowe Avenue, Swindon) Marlowe Avenue between Harrington Walk and Greenbridge Road. Traffic to be diverted via Marlowe Avenue, Courteney Road, Frobisher Drive, Maitland Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 3 September 2026 for 12 months but works are expected to take place between 3 to 5 September 2026.
