Proposed Traffic Calming Measures in D3458 Mytchett Lake Road, Mytchett

Notice is hereby given that Surrey County Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 90(A) to (I) inclusive of the Highways Act 1980, propose to introduce physical measures to improve safety and reduce vehicle speeds in D3458 Mytchett Lake Road, Mytchett, as follows:- 

A raised road table which extends across the full width of the carriageway and will be 75mm in height, to be centred 7.8m west of the western property boundary of “No.1 Mytchett Lake Road”. The proposed raised flat-top road table will be 4m in length and the ramps will be 1.125m in length, with a gradient of 1:15.

A322 Lightwater By-Pass, Lightwater
A322 Guildford Road and C5 Guildford Road West End
(40MPH and 60MPH Speed Limit) Order 2026

On 04 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above named Order, under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers, which will come into force on 07 August 2026; the effect of which will be to:- 

1. Reduce the speed limit imposed on the lengths of road described in the First Schedule to this Notice to a 40mph maximum speed limit. 

2. Reduce the speed limit imposed on the lengths of road described in the Second Schedule to this Notice to a 60mph maximum speed limit.

The speed limits imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. 

A copy of plans showing the lengths of road to which the Order relates, a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order and a copy of the made Order, may be viewed during normal opening hours at:-
(1) Camberley Library, Knoll Road, Camberley, Surrey GU15 3SY;

(2) Lightwater Library, 83A Guildford Road, Lightwater, Surrey GU18 5SB; and (3) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ.

First Schedule
(i) That length of A322 Guildford Road, West End (both northwestbound and south-eastbound carriageways) that extends from the northern side of its roundabout junction with B311 Red Road and A319 Bagshot Road “the Gordon Boys Roundabout”, to the A322 Lightwater By-Pass. 

(ii) That length of A322 Lightwater By-Pass, Lightwater that extends from A322 Guildford Road, to a point 40m north-west of its junction with C5 Guildford Road, a distance of approximately 320m.

(iii) That length of C5 Guildford Road, West End, that extends from a point 541m south-east of a point of 115 m south-east of the intersection of the prolongation of the south-eastern kerbline of Lightwater Road and the north-eastern kerbline of C5 Guildford Road, to its junction/s with A322 Guildford Road (north-westbound arm), and A322 Lightwater By-Pass (eastbound arm)

Second Schedule
(i) That length of A322 Lightwater By-Pass, Lightwater (northwestbound carriageway), that extends from a point 40m north-west of its junction with C5 Guildford Road, to a point 325m south-east of the M3 Junction 3 interchange with the A322, a distance of approximately 1.9km.

(ii) That length of A322 Lightwater By-Pass, Lightwater (southeastbound carriageway), that extends from a point 260m south-east of the junction with the M3 junction 3 interchange with the A322, to a point 40m north-west of its junction with C5 Guildford Road, a distance of approximately 2.0km.
