What is happening?
CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(Various Roads, Linton) (Speed Limits) (Consolidation) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that on the 31st of July 2026 the Cambridgeshire County Council (“CCC”) has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers. The effect of which is to implement a 20mph speed limit on most residential roads in Linton along with 40mph buffer zones on lengths of Back Rd, Balsham Rd, Hadstock Rd and Horseheath Rd. For administrative purposes the Order revokes and consolidates the effects of the “CCC (50mph Speed Limit) (No 1) Order 2008” whilst also revoking the historic 20mph and Restricted Roads speed limit Orders in operation within the village.
A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on the 5th of August 2026 together with a map showing the effects of the Order and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for having made the Order, may be inspected at the office of the undersigned during normal office hours and online, on the Council’s website, at the following address https://shorturl.at/cjnIO – see reference PR1052.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may do so by application to the High Court within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made.
