What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (EGMANTON ROAD AND THORPE ROAD, MANSFIELD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, BUS STOP CLEARWAY AND HUMPED ZEBRA CROSSING) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026 (2267)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (zebra crossing) and Section 90A - 90I of the Highways Act 1980 (traffic calming hump), has installed a humped zebra crossings and Has Made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Traffic Management Act 2004, as amended, and The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of Nottinghamshire) Designation Order 2008 (SI 2008 No. 1086), as amended, the effects of which will be in respect of roads at Mansfield in the District of Mansfield: ‑
1. Proposed prohibition of Waiting At Any Time along the following lengths of road: -
EGMANTON ROAD, MANSFIELD (the north-west and west side)
From a point 53 metres north-east of its junction with Thorpe Road in a north-easterly then northerly direction for 86 metres
EGMANTON ROAD, MANSFIELD (the south-east and east side)
From a point 107 metres north-east of its junction with Thorpe Road in a north-easterly then northerly direction for 59 metres
2. Proposed No Stopping at any time Except Buses along the following lengths of road: -
EGMANTON ROAD, MANSFIELD (the south-east side)
From a point 58 metres north-east of its junction with Thorpe Road in a north-easterly direction for 47 metres.
3. Proposed Humped Zebra Crossing – No Parking, Stopping or Loading along the following lengths of road: -
EGMANTON ROAD, MANSFIELD (the north-west side)
From a point 8 metres east of its junction with Thorpe Road in a north-easterly direction for 45 metres
EGMANTON ROAD, MANSFIELD (the south-east side)
From a point 8 metres east of its junction with Thorpe Road in a north-easterly direction for 50 metres

THIS ORDER WILL COME INTO FORCE ON 6th AUGUST 2026
The restrictions have been designed to prevent dangerous parking around the new bend in the road.
