Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 14(1), 14(2) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

ACLE — A Bridewell Lane from its junction with Old Road to its junction with The Street and B South Walsham Road from its junction with The Street for 670m westwards and C) The Street from its junction with South Walsham Road to its junction with Old Road and D) Old Road from 30m east of its junction with Bridwell Lane for 230m south-westwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works, the Roads A, B, C and D will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Roads A, B, C and D shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 10th to 21th August 2026 (may continue until 2nd October 2026). CAISTER-ON-SEA — U62235 Prince of Wales Road from its junction with U62279 Dover Court to its junction with U6245 Tyne Mews to facilitate patching and replacement gully works from 12th to 13th August 2026 (may continue until 24th September 2026). CROMER — A) Harbord Road Footway from its junction with Mill Road for 27m eastwards and B) Mill Road Footway from its junction with Harbord Road for 47m southwards to facilitate gas main replacement works from 10th to 28th August 2026 (may continue until 9th October 2026). EDGEFIELD — C312 Church Lane from its junction with Rectory Road to its junction with The Green to facilitate carriageway repairs on 11th August 2026 (may continue until 22nd September 2026). GREAT YARMOUTH — Trafalgar Road East from 8m west of its junction with Chapel Lane for 30m westwards to facilitate new gas connection works, traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 10th to 12th August 2026 (may continue until 23rd September 2026). GREAT YARMOUTH — Magdalen Way from its junction with St Anne’s Crescent to its junction with Hertford Way (northbound carriageway only) to facilitate footway maintenance works from 10th August to 23rd October 2026 (may continue until 23rd April 2027). Alternative route is via: Trinity Avenue, St Annes Crescent, Christchurch Road, Oriel Avenue, Hertford Way. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

HEMBLINGTON — U59291 High Noon Lane from 30m north of its junction with U59320 Cutton Corner for 30m southwards to facilitate carriageway patching works on 13th August 2026 (may continue until 24th September 2026). MARTHAM — U69349 Damgate Lane from 110m northwest of its junction with C456 Staithe Road to its junction with U69529 Damgate Back Lane to facilitate sewer connection works, the road will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 10th to 28th August 2026 (may continue until 9th October 2026). DEREHAM — Dereham FP14 (also known as Rolling Pin Lane) from its joining with U30103 Littlefields to its joining with U30106 Sardis Way to facilitate pothole repair works from 3rd to 7th August 2026 (may continue until 18th September 2026). Alternative route is via: U30106 Sardis Way, U30107 The Grove, U30103 Littlefields and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

GREAT MELTON — C185 The Croft/Hethersett Road from its junction with C169 Hall Road for 450m eastwards to facilitate pole renewal works on 3rd August 2026 (may continue until 14th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Hethersett Road, Great Melton Road, Queens Road, Norwich Road, Ketts Oak, Norwich Common, Tuttles Lane East Roundabout, Tuttles Lane East, Tuttles Lane West, Melton Road, High Green (Hethersett, Wymondham, Great Melton). The works promoter is UK Power Networks.

GRESSENHALL — A) U35193 Church Lane from its junction with C225 Bridge Street to its junction with U35211 Church Lane and B) U35193 Church Lane from its junction with U35211 Church Lane to its junction with U35212 Park Farm Lane to facilitate carriageway patching works from 7th to 14th August 2026 (may continue until 18th September 2026). Alternative route is via: A) U35211 Church Lane, C225 Dereham Road and vice versa. B) U35193 Church Lane, C242 Longham Road/Mushroom Road, B1146 Dereham Road/ Swaffham Road/ Quebec Road, C225 Gressenhall Road/ Old Bridge, U35211 Church Lane and vice versa (Scarning, Dereham, Gressenhall). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: Works are anticipated to take place in phases: Phase 1 on Road A on 7th August 2026. Phase 2 on Road B on 13th to 14th August 2026.

LODDON — C385 Norton Road from its junction with C554 Beccles Road for 390m north-eastwards to facilitate new fibre network installation works from 5th to 14th August 2026 (may continue until 25th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Beccles Road, A146 Beccles Road, B1136 Yarmouth Road/Loddon Road, Beccles Road, The Street, Norton Road (Norton Subcourse, Haddiscoe, Hales and Heckingham, Thurton, Raveningham, Loddon). The works promoter is CityFibre.

MORNINGTHORPE AND FRITTON — C201 The Street from 1500m south of its junction with B1527 Mill Road for 20m southwards to facilitate concrete bagwork repair works on 3rd August 2026 (may continue until 14th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Middle Road, Low Road, Alburgh Road, Shelton Green, Room Lane, Barondole Lane, Spring Lane, Alburgh Road, B1527 Mill Road, The Street. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NEWTON FLOTMAN — U78128 Church Road from 10m northwest of the railway level crossing to 10m southeast of the railway level crossing to facilitate track inspection works between 23:00 and 07:00 from 1st to 2nd August 2026 (may continue until 13th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Greenways, Station Road, Flordon Road, Ipswich Road, Church Road (Flordon, Newton Flotman). The works promoter is Network Rail.

RIDDLESWORTH — Knettishall Road from 150m south of its junction with A1066 Thetford Road for 40m southwards to facilitate parapet fence repair works from 3rd to 4th August 2026 (may continue until 15th September 2026). Alternative route is via: U33111 Knettishall Road, A1066 Thetford Road, C146 The Street, Heath Road, Knettishall Road (Knettishall, Riddlesworth). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

SPOONER ROW — C572 London Road from its junction with B1172 London Road Roundabout for 100m westwards to facilitate tree trimming works between 09:00 and 17:00 on 4th August 2026 (may continue until 15th September 2026). Alternative route is via: London Road, Norwich Road, A11 (Morley, Besthorpe, Attleborough, Spooner Row). The works promoter is UK Power Networks.

THETFORD — U35558 Exeter Way to Brandon Road from 25m south of its junction with U3725 York Way to Salisbury Way for 300m south-eastwards to facilitate gas main upgrade works from 3rd to 21st August 2026 (may continue until 2nd October 2026). Alternative route is via: U3F558 Exeter Way to Brandon Road, U3725 York Way to Salisbury Way, U3F558 Exeter Way to Brandon Road. The works promoter is Cadent.

THURTON — A) C381 Ferry Road from its junction with A146 Norwich Road for 50m northwards and B) C380 Birch Way from its junction with A146 Norwich Road for 10m southwards to facilitate sign replacement works on 4th August 2026 (may continue until 15th September 2026).

Alternative route is via:

  • Road A (A146 Norwich Road, Ashby Road, Mill Road, Hall Road, Church Road, Chapel Road, Pungo Lane, Ferry Road): clockwise: A146 Norwich Road, Nursery Road, Langley Road, Birch Way. Anticlockwise: Hall Road, The Street, A146 Norwich Road (Ashby St. Mary, Thurton, Carleton St. Peter).
