HYSBYSIR DRWY HYN fod y Cyngor fel Awdurdod Priffyrdd Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr, drwy arfer ei bwerau o dan Adran 14(1) o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y'i diwygiwyd), yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn mewn dim llai na 7 diwrnod o ddyddiad yr Hysbysiad hwn a fydd yn cyflwyno cyfyngiad dros dro yn Ochr Rad, Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr, fel y nodir yn yr atodlen isod.
Mae angen gwneud y Gorchymyn yn sgil gwaith i ddymchwel Maes Parcio Brackla 1 ac ailddatblygu’r maes parcio a hen safle Gorsaf yr Heddlu.
Bydd y ffordd ar gau yn rhannol rhwng cefn siop Aldi hyd at y gyffordd â mynedfa gefn Canolfan Siopa Stryd Brackla.Daw'r Gorchymyn i rym ar 12/08/2026 a bydd yn parhau mewn grym am uchafswm o 18 mis neu hyd nes y bydd y gwaith wedi'i gwblhau, p'un bynnag sydd gynharaf.
Rhagwelir y bydd y gwaith arfaethedig yn dechrau ar 12/08/2026.
Atodlen-Bydd Ochr Rad, Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr, ar gau dros dro o safle sydd 10 metr i’r dwyrain o fynedfa siop Aldi hyd at safle sy’n gyfochrog â Ffin Ddwyreiniol Maes Parcio Brackla 1.
Fel rhan o’r gorchymyn i gau’r ffordd, bydd y gorchymyn unffordd ar gyfer cyffordd ogleddol Ochr Rad â Stryd Brackla a siop Aldi yn cael ei atal dros dro, a bydd cyffordd ddeheuol Ochr Rad â Stryd Brackla a’r fynedfa gefn i’r Ganolfan Siopa yn cael ei hatal dros dro.
Yn ogystal, bydd cyfyngiadau “Dim llwytho ar unrhyw adeg” a “Dim aros ar unrhyw adeg” yn cael eu cyflwyno yn Ochr Rad a Stryd Brackla, o’r gyffordd â Heol Tremains hyd at gyffordd ddeheuol Ochr Rad â Stryd Brackla.
Nid oes unrhyw lwybrau amgen wedi’u darparu, a bydd mynediad yn cael ei ddarparu trwy atal gorchmynion traffig “unffordd”.
Ni fydd unrhyw fynediad ar gael i unrhyw wasanaethau brys pan fydd y ffordd ar gau.Fodd bynnag, ni fydd y cyfyngiadau’n berthnasol ond ar yr amser ac i’r graddau a nodir o bryd i’w gilydd gan arwyddion traffig a bennir gan Reoliadau a Chyfarwyddydau Cyffredinol Arwyddion Traffig 2016.

BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
(CHEAPSIDE, BRIDGEND) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council as the Highway Authority for Bridgend in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intends in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make an Order which will temporarily introduce the restriction on Cheapside, Bridgend as set out in the schedule below.
The Order is due to demolition of Brackla 1 Carpark and redevelopment of the carpark and former Police station site; there is partial closure between the rear of Aldi store to junction with Brackla Street Shopping Centre rear access. The Order will come into force on the 12/08/2026 and will continue in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
It is anticipated the planned works will be undertaken from 12/08/2026.
Schedule-There is temporary closure of Cheapside Bridgend, from a point 10 meters east of the access point to Aldi store to a point level with the Eastern Boundary of Brackla 1 Car Park.
As part of the road closure the one way order on Cheapside northern junction with Brackla Street and Aldi store to be temporarily suspended, and Cheapside southern junction with Brackla Street and Shopping Centre rear access to be temporarily suspended. In addition “No Loading at any time” and “No waiting at any time” restrictions to be introduced on Cheapside and Brackla Street, from junction with Tremains Road to Cheapside southern junction with Brackla Street. There are no alternative routes provided, access will be provided through suspension of “one – way” traffic orders.
No access will be provided through the closure to any emergency services.
The restrictions shall however only apply at such time and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
