What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 4th August 2026, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 32, 35, 39 and 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to: (i) implement No stopping 8am to 9am and 3pm to 4pm Monday to Friday on school entrance restriction on the north side of Downs Road between a point 95 metres east of its junction with Wrights Close to a point 172 metres east of that junction; and (ii) implement no waiting at any time restrictions in the following locations: (a) Church Street – East Side - Between a point 95 metres south of its junction with Rook Lane and a point 149 metres south of that junction. (b) Church Street – West Side - Between the northern boundary of no.73 southwards for 30 metres. To facilitate these changes, The Hampshire (Various Roads, Wonston and Micheldever) (Parking Places and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2010 and all 6 of its variation orders will be consolidated.
DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Tuesday 25th August 2025.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
