(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Lower Harpenden Road, Hyde between Farrs Lane and County Border.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1 to 3 September between the hours of 0900-1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via B653, New Airport Way, London Rd, A1081, B652, B653 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from exceeding a 30mph speed limit along the length of Harlington Road and Bridle Way, Toddington which extends from Harlington Road between Nursery Cottages and Briarmead farm and Bridle Way from J&K Recovery Signs to B5120.

This temporary speed limit is required to facilitate traffic light loop cuts and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

It is expected that the 30mph speed limit will be in operation from 1st September 2026 until 27 February 2027.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 1 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed whichever is the earlier.
