Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Scotland Lane (D5524) Haslemere as extends from its junction with (D5526) Denbigh Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Oversted”. Alternative Route: (1) Scotland Lane, Haste Hill, (B2131) Petworth Road, (A286) Lower Street, (A286) Shepherds Hill, (A286) Midhurst Road, and Scotland Lane; (2) Scotland Lane, (A286) Midhurst Road, (A286) Shepherds Hill, (A286) Lower Street, (A286) High Street, (B2131) Petworth Road, Haste Hill, and Scotland Lane. This Order is required to facilitate mains water utility works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 11.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, all other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.
