What is happening?

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WATFORD BOROUGH PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.001 AND THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.36 AND No.39 STUD GREEN, WATFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of public footpath (“the Public Footpath”) and footpath (“the Footpath”):-

1. Watford Borough Public Footpath No.001 from its junction with Hare Crescent south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 79m.

An alternative route will be via Watford Borough Public Footpath No.001, the footway situated on the east side of High Road, the footway situated on the south side of Horseshoe Lane, the footway situated on the west side of Louvain Way and the footway situated on the north and west sides of Weall Green.

2. the footpath situated between No.36 and No.39 Stud Green, Watford from its junction with Stud Green north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 82m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath and Footpath.

The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 6 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath and Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN KINGS LANGLEY AND NASH MILLS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Railway Terrace, Kings Langley from its junction with Hyde Lane south eastwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 1195m.

An alternative route will be via Lower Road, Belswains Lane, Lawn Lane, A414 (Two Waters Road/Two Waters Way), A4251 (London Road/Hempstead Road/High Street/Watford Road), A41 Watford Road, Bridge Road, Hunton Bridge Hill, Hamilton Road, Gallows Hill and Station Road.

2. that length of Hyde Lane, Nash Mills from its junction with Railway Terrace north eastwards to its junction with Woodlands Road, a distance of approximately 83m.

An alternative route will be via Lower Road, Bunkers Lane, Bedmond Road and Hyde Lane.

3. that length of Harthall Lane, Kings Langley from its junction with Primrose Hill north eastwards for a distance of approximately 83m.

An alternative route will be via Railway Terrace, Hyde Lane, Bedmond Road and Harthall Lane.

4. the service road fronting Nos.1-21 Railway Terrace, Kings Langley from its northernmost junction with Railway Terrace south eastwards and south westwards a distance of approximately 238m.

An alternative route will be via Railway Terrace.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 15 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN LANGLEYBURY, GROVE MILL, WATFORD AND CHANDLERS CROSS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Langleybury Lane, Langleybury from its junction with A41 Watford Road south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Grove Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 2381m.

An alternative route will be via A41 Watford Road, A411 Hempstead Road and Grove Mill Lane.

2. that length of Grove Mill Lane, Grove Mill/Watford from its junction with Langleybury Lane south eastwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A411 Hempstead Road, a distance of approximately 1962m.

An alternative route will be via Langleybury Lane, A41 Watford Road and A411 Hempstead Road.

3. that length of Fir Tree Hill/Redhall Lane, Chandlers Cross from its junction with Grove Mill Lane south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Chandlers Lane, a distance of approximately 1185m.

An alternative route will be via Grove Mill Lane, A411 Hempstead Road, A41 (Hempstead Road/Watford Road), A4251 (London Road/High Street), Vicarage Lane, Chipperfield Road, Langley Road, Chapel Croft, The Street, The Common, Bucks Hill, Toms Hill and Chandlers Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MERRY HILL ROAD, BUSHEY) ORDER No.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Merry Hill Road, Bushey from its junction with A411 London Road south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 93m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A411 (London Road/Sparrows Herne) and Merry Hill Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of A411 Waterfields Way, Watford from its junction with the ‘Cône Valley Retail Park’ access road roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 215m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A411 (Waterfields Way/Beechen Grove), Lower High Street and A411 Waterfields Way.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 16 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B462 Aldenham Road, Bushey from its junction with Bushey Mill Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 250m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B462 Hartspring Lane, A41 North Western Avenue, A4008 Stephenson Way, A411 (Waterfields Way/Lower High Street), A411 Chalk Hill and B462 Aldenham Road or via B462 Aldenham Road, A4008 (Aldenham Road/Pinner Road), A411 (Lower High Street/Dalton Way/Waterfields Way), A4008 Stephenson Way, A41 Otterspool Way and B462 (Hartspring Lane/Aldenham Road).

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Romilly Drive, Watford from its junction with Harrow Way north eastwards and south eastwards to its northernmost junction with Oulton Way, a distance of approximately 220m.

An alternative route will be via Harrow Way, Little Oxhey Lane and Romilly Drive.

2. that length of Gade Avenue, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road north westwards, north eastwards, northwards and north eastwards to its junction with Cassiobury Park Avenue, a distance of approximately 654m.

An alternative route will be via A412 Rickmansworth Road and Cassiobury Park Avenue.

3. that length of Orchard Close, Watford from its junction with The Gardens south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 9 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
